# How OnyxIQ consulting engagements work

> OnyxIQ engagements follow a four-step process: free discovery call, scoped proposal, async build with weekly updates, and a documented handoff. No surprises.

Every OnyxIQ engagement follows the same four-step process. It is designed to keep things transparent — you know the scope and price before any work starts, you own the code from day one, and you get regular updates without needing to chase for them.

## Engagement process

    A free 30-minute call to understand the problem and align on scope. No commitment required. This is where you explain what you need and Atul asks clarifying questions before putting together a proposal.

    You receive a written proposal with a clear scope, timeline, and price. Nothing starts until you have agreed to those terms. No surprise invoices, no scope creep without explicit discussion.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build">
    Work begins. You receive weekly async updates throughout the engagement. The code repository is yours from day one — not handed over at the end, but owned by you the moment it exists.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ship & handoff">
    The project is deployed, documented, and ready for your team to own. Handoff includes everything you need to operate and extend the work independently.
